Hi, my name is jasmine -

I am a mother to two, surrogate carrier to one, cancer survivor, doula, doula educator, and in my early years of adulthood I wore many other hats that support the work that I do now.

I began my multi-passioned career in health and wellness by leaving my home in Southern California to become a Natural Chef at Bauman College Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Institute in Berkeley, California. My focus was initially in preparing nutrient-dense foods for cancer patients, but I soon began to look at pre and post-natal nutrition instead. My education there and the apprenticeship at Three Stone Hearth, a Weston A. Price Foundation kitchen, would become cornerstones in rebuilding my strength and vitality after giving birth as well as my own cancer and bone marrow transplant recovery. (Interesting how we sometimes think we are serving others, but really gathering our own medicine.)

After finding myself pregnant at 20 years old and giving birth to a premature baby girl just after my 21st birthday, I struggled with postpartum depression and the transition to motherhood. It was my desire to have a different, empowering experience that led me to learn more about my cycle, different styles of parenting, energy work, and eventually consciously conceive my second daughter which resulted in a full term pregnancy and incredible birth experience. I took that energy and excitement about birth and channeled it into teaching prenatal yoga and crafting meals for the postpartum period.

As my love for pregnancy, the pelvic floor and parenting grew, so did my passion for teaching and in 2017 while pregnant as a surrogate, I took my birth and postpartum doula training with Doula Trainings International. It was then that everything in my life seemed to fall into place.

Unfortunately, as the momentum and my excitement grew in my new career path, I had a new obstacle to overcome. At 28 years old I was diagnosed with acute meyloid leukemia, a fast-acting blood cancer that needed to be treated right away. I was hospitalized and put in isolation for over a month (the first of 4 hospitalizations and isolation periods) to treat the cancer. I spent that year losing my hair and all sense of control, but gaining a new clarity in my path, my vision, my strength and my love for my family. By the end of that same year I was in remission with brand new stem cells.

We moved to Oregon in 2019 where I now reside with my husband, two kids, a chinchilla and two cats. I believe strongly in the power of connection and collaboration, and since moving to Eugene have begun to connect to like-minded birth professionals and agencies.

..you want to incorporate yoga, nutrition information and breathwork into your prenatal experience.

..you are going through a unique experience, such as surrogacy, adoption, navigating the healthcare system as a non-cis human, or don’t feel like you fit into any one box.

..you are looking for information about your cycle and fertility for your family planning after baby is born.

..you are looking for grounded support, evidence-based information and also have a love for the mystical, spiritual and unknown realms of birth and parenting.

Testimonials

COURTNEY - I hired Jasmine in the last few weeks of my fourth pregnancy. I’ve always had hospital births, but my third one was really difficult and hospital staff consistently ignored what I said I wanted. I knew for my last birth I wanted someone to run interference with medical staff for me so my husband and I could focus on delivering our baby. When we met with Jasmine for the first time, I immediately felt calmer. I knew she would advocate for me and allow me to focus on my delivery. The peace I felt was so important, and I was able to have the delivery I wanted.

I don’t even know where to start in writing this. My experience with Jasmine was so beautiful and inspiring on many levels, and it sometimes feels like a challenge putting those feelings into words!

I met Jasmine while searching for a doula to support me through my second birth, my VBAC. I birthed my first son supported by my husband, and feeling like we were ready for anything. My process was reimagined quickly as we got to the hospital and a cesarean became a part of my first birth story. I felt surprised, sad and bit lost. Coming into my second pregnancy, and wanting a different experience, I decided to prepare in a different way. I began looking for doulas, and I met Jasmine for the first time in a coffee shop. Her calming and joyful energy filled the room. I hadn’t known her for more than an hour, and I found myself feeling a connection and a sense of comfort.

I tried to go into this next journey with less of a plan and more of a flow. During my pregnancy, Jasmine helped me to feel confident in my intuition and she helped me to feel educated in my options. I attended her prenatal yoga classes, and I found so much peace and joy there as my due date came and went. When the time came, my contractions began up on the mountain where we live. We flowed through this while keeping in touch. We drove down to the birth center early the next morning, and we asked Jasmine to join us not too long after. As she walked in to meet us, I felt an instant calm come over my whole being.

We all went into the birth room, and thinking back, that part of the journey- the most intense and amazing part of the journey- felt short but so sweet. I remember feeling a few times like I was getting lost in the intensity of it all, and I would look at Jasmine-her loving eyes looking right back into mine telling me that I could do this. I felt understood, I felt supported, and this brought me back. Her peaceful energy affirming that I AM doing this.

I had a couple of friends with me as well that day supporting and watching after my older son. One mentioned with love and amazement that she barely heard any words come from either of us, but that the connection was tangible. Her sense of calm, strength, and of love permeated the room on this beautiful day just as it did on the day that I first met with her. As my husband helped to catch our beautiful boy, I sobbed tears and wails of joy, of strength, of amazement! I can’t really imagine my birth any differently, and I am filled with gratitude that I was able to have Jasmine walk with me through this journey! - Erika

Jasmine is so intentional about her work and desires to give her clients the best. She is very knowledgeable and went above and beyond for me. I truly appreciate her passion for birthwork. Thank you again! - Amanda
