My yoga classes are a gentle vinyasa style class with special attention paid to the breath. You can expect to build the muscles you will need for childbirth and beyond in my prenatal yoga classes as well as getting a good stretch and allowing your mind to unwind. Postnatal classes are all about self-care, gentle stretches, and when you’re ready, rebuilding of the core and pelvic floor muscles.
Yoga is an incredible practice for connection. When we are connected to our breathe and our current state of being, we find ourselves moving from a place of clarity. We become better mothers and better members of society! Physically yoga asana strengthens muscles needed for a healthy, enjoyable pregnancy and easier childbirth. Living your yoga is about finding balance and surrendering to the chaos of motherhood. Yoga helps us to parent from this balanced, centered place and feel good doing it.
HOW YOGA CHANGED MY LIFE
I began my yoga practice while attending community college, and was instantly hooked. My yoga practice carried me through my education at Bauman College- Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Institute, where I graduated in 2009 as a Natural Chef in Berkeley, Ca. I became educated in many different forms of yoga and Tibetan Buddhism while living in a monastery as a live-in chef and have carried the memories and lifestyle with me back to Redlands. I'm now a mama of two and love the balance that yoga brings to me at this time in my life.
After years of practice I can’t help but feel that yoga is, in so many ways, the perfect practice for women. Living this practice gives us the deep roots that we need so that we can grow and expand into our many roles as modern women and mothers, and it helps us to do this with balance and ease.
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN ME IN A CLASS OR PRIVATE SESSION?
I am a 200-hr RYT vinyasa yoga teacher. I took a prenatal yoga teacher training with Desi Bartlett, and continue to learn and expand as a teacher by attending workshops, trainings and reading about women’s health related to childbirth and postpartum. My classes are a place to let go and fill your cup. I include strengthening postures and gentle restorative poses that are all beneficial for life as a mother.
